Arne Slot said that Alisson's injury does not look good, with the Brazilian goalkeeper already ruled out of Saturday's Premier League trip to Chelsea. Alisson came off shortly before the hour mark against Galatasaray after hurting himself while saving a shot from Victor Osimhen, and it did not take long for the decision to be taken for him to be replaced by Giorgi Mamardashvili.

Slot confirmed that Alisson, who missed a sizeable chunk of games last season due to injury, will not play at Stamford Bridge at the weekend. “It is never positive if you go off like this," Slot said.

"You can be sure that he is not playing on Saturday. We will see how long it takes but he definitely won’t play against Chelsea.” The Dutchman did not provide a meaningful update on the fitness of Hugo Ekitike, who also went off with an injury during the second half, but said "hopefully he isn’t in a bad way."
