Liverpool will look to bounce back from their defeat in the league at the weekend when taking on Galatasaray.Away games do not get much tougher than Galatasaray, and for the Reds, it has come at a very tricky time.Liverpool lost for the first time this season on Saturday after conceding in the 97th minute to Crystal Palace, although it was a result that is hard to argue against.Arne Slot admitted afterwards that the South London side deserved the victory, with the Dutchman now expected to make a few changes to his squad due to their frustrating performance. One loss should certainly not be a cause for concern, however, with a good outing in Istanbul potentially getting them back on track.Photo by Tom Dulat/Getty ImagesDefenceThe backline has been a huge issue for the Reds at the start of the season, with many surprised with how many goals they have been conceding. With that said, there is not too much Slot can change due to lack of options, although one man who will definitely keep his place no matter what due to his heroics on Saturday will be Alisson Becker. If it were not for the Brazilian, the game would have been over by half-time, with the shot-stopper pulling off some incredible saves. And despite being shaky, both Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate will likely keep their place in the team too, with the latter’s place safe due to the lack of competition for his spot. Slot may fancy a change in both full-back positions, though, with Milos Kerkez being ‘really poor’ this season, especially against Palace, suggesting the experienced Andy Robertson might replace him.At right-back, Slot seemed to call out Jeremie Frimpong for being too attacking, suggesting that he is not best pleased with his new right-back at this moment in time. So, Conor Bradley will likely retain his place despite being subbed off at half-time on Saturday, completing the backline.MidfieldMore changes are anticipated in the middle of the park too, although as every fan would expect, Ryan Gravenberch will keep his place after starting the season in “unbelievable” form.
Just in front of him could be Dominik Szoboszlai as he continues to impress, while Alexis Mac Allister could be rested due to his minutes still being managed after injury. As for the number 10 position, Slot has many options at his disposal but he will likely move Florian Wirtz back there after starting him at left wing on Saturday.READ MORE: Gary Neville believes Arsenal have one thing that will help them win the title over LiverpoolAfter costing £116m as well, Slot sort of has to keep faith in him anyway, although Liverpool are not worried about Wirtz and strongly believe he will find his feet very soon.AttackThere will be a lot of focus on the attack because as of late, it has not been as free-flowing as fans are perhaps used to.However, one change that will almost never be made is that of Mohamed Salah, with the Egyptian nailed on to start at right wing again. The 33-year-old has not started the season in the best of form, but has still contributed with some big moments, and there is always the potential he crops up with some more, especially in the Champions League. On the left there will likely be a change, though, with Cody Gakpo coming back into the starting XI after dropping to the bench against Palace.Slot’s experiment of playing Wirtz out there did not work the way he may have thought, suggesting it will be the Dutchman who he will be hoping to rely upon again. And after missing Saturday through suspension, Hugo Ekitike will take over from Alexander Isak to lead the line. The Swede has played a lot of football over the last few weeks so is likely due a rest, and with Ekitike raring to go again and prove himself, it seems like the best option for Tuesday.
