Marc Guehi will be able to speak to the clubs outside of England regarding a free transfer from January 1, which is exactly when Bayern Munich plan to enter talks. They report that, having already had contact with Guehi’s agent, Bayern sporting director Max Eberl plans to hold talks with the player himself on January 1.

It is suggested that Bayern would look to sign Guehi as well as tying Dayot Upamecano down to a new long-term contract. Why Bayern could hold an advantage over Liverpool Given clubs in the Premier League will not be able to hold formal talks with the 25-year-old until June – the final month of his deal at Palace – there is the potential for Bayern to steal a march on Liverpool.

Whether that remains the case due to the scale of interest elsewhere in Europe, as well as Liverpool’s struggles this season under Arne Slot, is unclear. It would be foolish to believe that Guehi’s camp are not continuing their dialogue with the Premier League champions regardless of FIFA’s rules over Bosman transfers.
