Liverpool have triggered their option to extend Alisson Becker's contract by 12 months to extend the goalkeeper's Anfield commitment to nine years. Alisson agreed a five-year deal in 2021 which contained a clause that allowed the Reds to further the agreement by another year.

And, as expected, Liverpool have now taken up that option to prevent the goalkeeper from potentially leaving on a free transfer at the end of the season. Speaking to WinWin on Saturday evening, Alisson's agent Ze Maria Ness confirmed the news by stating: "We have just renewed the contract with Liverpool." FOLLOW OUR LIVERPOOL FC FACEBOOK PAGE!
