Clubs interested will not have the entire month to activate the clause, as it expires on January 10, a move designed to give Bournemouth ample time to find a replacement. If he stays at the Vitality Stadium, the release clause will then be reduced to a lower amount in the summer. It was revealed on Tuesday morning that Chelsea were contemplating a late push for the winger to boost their attacking options.

The Blues did bring in two wingers in the summer, Jamie Gittens and Alejandro Garnacho, but they have had a long-standing interest in Semenyo, having considered a move back in 2019 when he was still at Bristol City.Chelsea will not pursue a move for Semenyo as things stand. They did make an enquiry and hold strong admiration for the player, but it is believed they have confidence in the attackers currently available to Enzo Maresca.Chelsea are not alone in their interest in Semenyo, with Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United all reportedly courting the player ahead of a potential January transfer.
