Conor Bradley had a tough afternoon up against Jeremy Doku. The Reds were comfortably outplayed against Manchester City, with Pep Guardiola’s side running out 3-0 winners. One of the reasons for this was Doku, with the Belgian winger having one of his best games in a long time and causing Liverpool all sorts of problems.Join our newsletter for news & smart analysis. It was Bradley who was tasked with trying to stop him and due to how well Doku did overall, as well as scoring a goal, many will be quick to blame the Northern Irishman for not doing his job. However, that is simply not the case and here is why Bradley deserves so much more credit than he may get.Photo by Liverpool FC/Liverpool FC via Getty ImagesConor Bradley did everything he couldDuring the week, Bradley backpocketed Vinicius Jr and marked him out of the game, with Liverpool fans hoping he could do the same against Man City. This was not the case, however, although it was not really his fault as he did not get much help from the players around, especially Ibrahima Konate.Bradley looked like one of the only players in a Red shirt doing all he could to propel his team forward, with it clear that he left everything on the pitch. His statistics also show just how well he did, with the right-back winning two of his three tackles, as well as making three interceptions. To add to this, he made one clearance, one block, four recoveries, and won five of nine ground duels – not bad going considering how well his opposing winger played.
