Curtis Jones returned to Liverpool training ahead of Real Madrid‘s visit in the Champions League, but Alexander Isak remains sidelined with a groin issue. Arne Slot‘s side host Real Madrid on Tuesday evening and have been handed one fitness boost, with Jones joining the first-team squad in training on Monday afternoon.
On the flip side, there was still no sign of Isak during the open training session at the AXA Training Centre, with the centre-forward sidelined with a groin injury. The Swede has not featured for Liverpool since the trip to Frankfurt, where he played the first 45 minutes before being withdrawn “because he felt his groin a little bit,” in the words of Slot.
Slot’s squad on the eve of Real Madrid‘s visit also included academy players Kaide Gordon, Wellity Lucky, Tommy Pilling and Calvin Ramsay, though the latter is not eligible for the Champions League.
