For just the second time since he took over, Liverpool have lost back-to-back games under Arne Slot. The Reds’ disappointing week continues as they failed to bounce back from their defeat to Crystal Palace at the weekend, following it up with defeat to Galatasaray in the Champions League.Performance levels, as seen in almost every game so far this season, were nowhere near the levels many would have expected from the reigning champions, with Liverpool failing to create anything of note in Turkey.Slot even tried to switch things up with his line-up, with the Dutchman making a few changes and experimenting with his team. However, Tuesday night was not perhaps the time to do this and it has backfired massively, with former Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge left confused over one decision in particular. When you look at Frimpong being brought in as a right-back.”The Frimpong experiment certainly did not work as he failed to make an impact on the game, suggesting that next time, it might be best to move him back to his more natural position.

Jeremie Frimpong is yet to show his full potentialIt is understandable why Slot tried Frimpong further up the pitch because during his time at Bayer Leverkusen, he almost played as a right winger anyway. However, his start at Liverpool has been a little underwhelming, both in terms of attacking and defending, with the Dutchman yet to fully settle into the team. His pace is one thing that many expected to be a huge problem for teams the Reds play, but he has not utilised this to good effect just yet. Off the pitch, though, he seems to be a great addition and everyone in the first-team squad loves him, suggesting it is only a matter of time before things start to click on the field for him and his Liverpool career really begins.
