David Moyes suffered the usual sting of a Liverpool defeat on Sunday as his Everton team went down to a last-second Virgil van Dijk header.The loss was perhaps a little harsh on the Toffees, who were arguably the better team for much of the match.But while he had a right to be frustrated by the result, Moyes‘ claim that Everton should have had a first-half penalty for a foul on Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall was just pure sour grapes. Photo Credit: Getty Images/Liverpool FC He is right that there was contact, of course there was, but that does not mean it was anything like being a foul.Dewwbury-Hall did not have a chance to score, as Moyes asserts, instead he was looking for any kind of contact from Ibrahima Konate to hit the turf and scream for a penalty.Thankfully for Liverpool, though Moyes was conned by his own player, referee Chris Kavanagh was not, and the right decision was reached.The Everton boss was obviously frustrated on the back of a defeat, but to claim that this was a penalty, or that the Toffees were hard done by at all by the officials on Sunday is just utterly ridiculous.
