The 28-year-old was not required in the first half, but he had to make two important stops early in the second period.Dan Burn – 6Not overly tested at centre-back, a good run out for Dan Burn who is likely to be a squad player at the World Cup.
The 22-year-old looked composed on the ball and did not look out of place defensively.John Stones – 7Another strong performance from John Stones, following his display against Serbia.Stones stepped into midfield on numerous occasions when England had possession which may be a tactic Tuchel will be looking at more before the World Cup.Nico O’Reilly – 7Another assured performance from the Man City player, who once again did not look out of place.The 20-year-old may have moved ahead in the pecking order for the left-back spot.Jarrod Bowen eager to impressJude Bellingham (Off for Rogers, 84′) – 7Returned after Morgan Rogers started against Serbia, Jude Bellingham looked lively in midfield, and was close to opening the scoring had he not slipped whilst taking a shot.Adam Wharton (Off for Anderson, 76′) – 5Received a yellow card when he made a late challenge on Kristjan Asllani. Tried to keep things ticking over for England in midfield, but he lost possession on a few occasions.Declan Rice (Off for Foden, 62′) – 7A box-to-box display from Declan Rice, it was another fine display in the middle of the park from the 26-year-old.
Eberechi Eze (Off for Saka, 63′) – 5Was not in the contest, and it was a underwhelming game for the Arsenal star with a place in Tuchel’s starting XI still up for grabs.Still, Eberechi Eze had one good chance which had to be saved by the goalkeeper at his near post.Jarrod Bowen (Off for Rashford, 76′) – 7The West Ham forward looked positive and wanted to be direct and wasn’t afraid to put the ball in the box.Bowen forced the Albania goalkeeper into a low save in England’s best chance for the first half.Harry Kane – 7Quiet in an attacking sense, with Harry Kane tracking back well and helping out England defensively. However, the Bayern Munich striker popped up with the goals when England needed him most with a close-range finish from a corner, and a header from a Marcus Rashford cross.Bukayo Saka makes instant impactCredit: ImagoSubstitutes Phil Foden (On for Rice, 62′) – 5Made an impact when he came off the bench against Serbia, but was quiet here.Bukayo Saka (On for Eze, 63) – 7England’s star performer against Serbia, and Bukayo Saka could have scored just minutes into his introduction.Saka then went to square the ball across the box instead of shoot when in an excellent position to score.Marcus Rashford (On for Bowen 76′) – 6Provided a pin point cross for Kane to head home, in a positive cameo from the winger.Elliott Anderson (On for Wharton 76′) – 6Slotted into midfield and was near perfect with his passing.Morgan Rogers (On for Bellingham 84′) – 5No chance to make an impact with the time remaining, and England already had the game won.
