Eight players could leave Liverpool this week as FSG ‘likely to sanction’ multiple exits

While all eyes from Liverpool fans will be on prospective incomings during the final week of the summer transfer window, there could also be several players leaving Anfield over the coming days.Kopites bade an emotional farewell to Mo Salah and Andy Robertson on the final day of last season, with Ibrahima Konate also departing on a free transfer in subsequent weeks, and Curtis Jones completed his move to Inter Milan over the past few days.Young talents like Ifeanyi Ndukwe and Kieran Morrison have departed on loan, and a few more could be following them out the door between now and the deadline next Tuesday.Liverpool could sanction multiple player exits this weekIn the latest Transfer DealSheet for The Athletic, which was published this morning, James Pearce assessed which players could viably leave Liverpool over the coming week.He wrote that ‘the future is uncertain’ for Federico Chiesa and Harvey Elliott after both were omitted from Andoni Iraola’s matchday squad for the 2-2 draw at Newcastle on Sunday, having also stated after the game on Tyneside that ‘it would be no surprise’ if that duo were to depart.(Photo by Geoff Stellfox/Getty Images)In addition to that pair, the Reds are ‘likely to sanction’ several loan exits this week, with options being considered for Kaide Gordon, Wellity Lucky, Jayden Danns and Keyrol Figueroa.There’s also ‘strong interest’ from the Championship in Luke Chambers and James McConnell, although Liverpool are yet to make a decision on whether to retain or loan out those two.Want more Empire of the Kop coverage? Both have proven their value as impact players for the Reds over the past couple of years, but that isn’t a status that either of them would want.It’s also one that, judging by what happened on Sunday, Iraola mightn’t even afford them, and they’d be pushed even further down the pecking order if Bradley Barcola and/or Yankuba Minteh were to join. We also have Hugo Ekitike to come back from injury later in the season, too.We’d rather see the duo kept on as squad options for Liverpool, but we’d also understand if they were to jump at the opportunity for a move elsewhere if their prospects of game-time at Anfield are likely to be quite limited.
