Striker Alexander Isak suffered an injury during Liverpool's victory against Tottenham in the Premier League on Saturday and may not return to action for a whileAlexander Isak suffered a leg injury on Saturday(Image: Getty Images)Liverpool fans are waiting to hear just how bad Alexander Isak's injury is.The Swedish striker limped out of Liverpool's 2-1 Premier League win against Tottenham in London on Saturday after being clattered by Micky van de Ven while putting the ball into the back of the net. Presuming he does miss three months of action and returns on March 20, he will miss 13 Premier League matches. That includes Liverpool's trip to Arsenal on January 8, a game which could have a big impact on where the Premier League title will land this season.

If Isak misses the next three months of action, he'll not play against League One team Barnsley at Anfield on January 12.Should Liverpool enjoy a cup run this season, the 26-year-old is also poised to miss the fourth round, to be played around February 14, and the fifth round, to be played around March 7.And what about the Champions League? Isak is now a major doubt for Liverpool's final two league phase games against Marseille on January 21 and Qarabag a week later. The Reds are currently ninth in the Champions League standings.

Isak will not be fit in time to play these games if he's going to be in the treatment room for the next three months. That means Isak could miss up to 22 games for Liverpool, and let's not forget about Sweden. If Isak's teammates win that game, they will take on the winner of Poland's clash against Albania on March 31.
