Exclusive: Salford City Agree Ryan Graydon Fee with Fleetwood

Salford City have reached an agreement with Fleetwood Town on a transfer fee for versatile forward Ryan Graydon, marking a significant coup in the January transfer window.[1][2]

The deal, reportedly in the region of £300,000 to £350,000, comes after Salford's previous bids were rejected in the summer and on deadline day. Fleetwood had been reluctant to sell the 26-year-old Irishman, citing promotion ambitions in League Two, but have now relented amid interest from multiple clubs, including Bradford City.[1][2]

Graydon, whose contract expires in summer 2026, exploded into form following Fleetwood's relegation to League Two last season. The former Derry City winger contributed to 20 goals in 39 appearances across all competitions, boasting a Sofascore rating of 7.06—the fourth-highest at the club. He averaged 1.9 shots per game, 0.5 shots on target, 0.8 key passes, and created six big chances, establishing himself as a key attacking threat.[1][2]

For Salford, who narrowly missed the playoffs last season (finishing one point behind seventh-placed Chesterfield), Graydon represents a smart addition to bolster their promotion push. Despite strong goal output from Cole Stockton (16 goals) and Hakeeb Adelakun (13), the Ammies seek more creativity on the wings. This move aligns with their busy summer under owners David Beckham and Gary Neville, who signed 14 players including Mark Howard and Kadeem Harris.[1]

Graydon's career trajectory adds intrigue: after joining Fleetwood from Derry for €0.1M in 2023, his Estimated Transfer Value now sits between €0.2M-€0.4M. Multiple League One sides had eyed him previously, but Salford have won the race.[2][3]

This transfer could prove pivotal for Salford's ambitions, blending Graydon's proven League Two pedigree with their upward trajectory.
