“It’s also better to get somebody in as soon as they can, give them a chance to look at the squad, hopefully, before the season ends, and we’ll see who they try to appoint.“I’m afraid it was not happy behind the scenes at Burnley. They’ve also got some very interesting numbers in their accounts coming out that aren’t great in terms of the debt that’s being put on there by the present owners.

So they’ve got another chance to try and rebuild again with parachute payments as well. They’ve got to come back, and they seem to be able to do that.
