Credit: Imago Sun 28 December 2025 20:00, UK Steve Parish will realise the fortunate position Crystal Palace are in with Oliver Glasner as their manager if the Austrian departs.That is according to ex-Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, amid Glasner’s uncertain future at Crystal Palace.Getafe manager Jose Bordalas has been mentioned as Glasner’s replacement at Crystal Palace, should the 51-year-old leave at the expiry of his contract.Glasner has won the FA Cup and Community Shield during his time at Crystal Palace, with the Eagles also qualifying for European competition for the first time in their history under his guidance.Jose Bordalas ‘not a good replacement’ for Oliver GlasnerEverton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – is not convinced that Bordalas should replace Glasner.Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness thinks Glasner could still remain at the London club.He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “Yeah, look, it does seem to certainly be talked about in the media that it’s a done deal for him [Glasner] going. “I think Glasner as a person, I think is stronger than Bordalas. I don’t think it’s a good replacement.

And I think they might be better off looking for somebody with a bit more Premier League experience. And I think once he’s done this search and looked for new managers, I think he realised just how lucky he is right now.” Crystal Palace chasing Tottenham starParish could still convince Glasner to remain at Selhurst Park if he backs the manager in the transfer market.Tottenham forward Brennan Johnson is a target for Crystal Palace in January, with the 24-year-old getting limited game time under Thomas Frank.The move could be either a loan or permanent deal, with Brentford and Ipswich Town having also expressed their interest in signing the Welshman.
