(Credit: Imago) ‘Crazy’: Recruitment expert reveals ‘the only way’ PSG can sign Erling Haaland from Man City Tue 24 February 2026 19:00, UK Man City are set to block any approaches for Erling Haaland in the summer transfer window despite lingering interest from the likes of PSG and Real Madrid. The 25-year-old hasn’t been at his free-scoring best so far this season, although he has scored 29 goals in 38 games, but Man City have no concerns about his form.Haaland has scored three goals in his last ten Premier League games, but has been highly praised by Pep Guardiola who still feels he is crucial to his plans.Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that “the only way” Haaland would be allowed to leave City is if they suffered a financial crisis.Otherwise, it would take “crazy money”, likely upwards of £200million, to even tempt Guardiola’s side into losing their superstar striker in the near future.Credit: ImagoRead more: Wayne Rooney has been surprised by Haaland’s performances.Man City plan to block Erling Haaland saleFootball Insider previously revealed that Haaland is very happy at Man City and has no plans to leave in the near future, while the club are not interested in letting him go. MORE FOOTBALL INSIDER STORIES Their stance has not changed despite some criticism this season, with his current contract set to run until 2034 and any interested clubs to be dismissed.“Man City aren’t even going to consider selling Haaland,” Brown told Football Insider.“Unless they’re in some sort of financial crisis we don’t know about and desperately need the money, there’s just no way they’re going to let him go.

That would be the only way.“It would take crazy money, £200million or more probably, to even start thinking about it. Whether it’s PSG, Real Madrid, whoever, they won’t be able to do it.“Regardless of how he’s played this season, they know how good he is.“It’s funny, people say he’s not scoring as much as he usually does or he’s not playing as well, but he still scores more than pretty much anybody else in the world.“His supposed poor season is better than 99 per cent of players would be able to pull off.

I have no doubts Man City are happy and comfortable with how he’s performed.“There’s not going to be any plans to let him go, and from everything you see and hear out of Man City, he’s happy there as well, so it’s not an issue.”Read more: When will Man City learn the outcome of their 115 charges?Pep Guardiola and Rodri eye Man City exitsHaaland is not the only big name being linked with a move away from the Etihad this summer, as both Rodri and Guardiola’s futures are up in the air.Brown told Football Insider on 24 February that Rodri is edging closer to leaving Man City amid long-term interest from Real Madrid who are once again keen on a deal. However, his future may be linked to that of Guardiola, with speculation rife that he could leave City in the summer before his contract expires in 2027.Credit: ImagoThe decisions are expected to be tied together, with the manager playing a key role in keeping Rodri at the club given the close relationship they have established.Brown told Football Insider on 3 February that Guardiola is not happy at Man City and is edging towards an early departure from the Etihad in the near future. For more Man City and exclusive news, follow us on Facebook or join our brand new WhatsApp Channel for instant updates to be sent straight to your phone.
