Liverpool's opponents for the third round of the 2025/26 Carabao Cup have been officially confirmed following the draw on Wednesday.
The Reds, who have been finalists in three of the past four years and won the competition twice in that period, will start their Carabao Cup campaign next month.
This season, the third-round fixtures will be spread across two midweeks to accommodate clubs participating in European competitions. Liverpool's match is set for the week beginning September 22.
As in previous rounds, matches will go directly to a penalty shootout if tied after 90 minutes, with no extra time played. Additionally, VAR will not be used at this stage of the competition.
The English Football League (EFL) stated that due to the expanded European calendar, special conditions applied to this year’s Carabao Cup Round Three draw. Matches are scheduled across two weeks—starting September 15 and 22—to avoid clashing with UEFA Champions League and Europa League fixtures. Clubs involved in these European competitions cannot be drawn against each other in Round Three due to rescheduling restrictions.
Liverpool will face Championship side Southampton at Anfield in this round, marking a home tie for the Reds.
