The FA Cup has reached the third round proper once again, as every team in the football pyramid looks to battle their way through the competition stages with glory in mind. Everton, five-times winners of the competition, and Liverpool, eight-times winners of the trophy, enter at this round along with the rest of the Premier League and Championship.
Both teams will view the Cup as an opportunity, not only to take away from the usual business in the Premier League, but also a chance to make some memories. The Blues only made it as far as the fourth round last season, beating Peterborough United in the third round before losing 2-0 to AFC Bournemouth in their second encounter.
As for the Reds, they beat Accrington Stanley with ease in the third round, but fell to a surprise defeat away at Plymouth Argyle in the fourth round. Both teams will be looking to make it further this time around, with over 60 possible opponents awaiting them from the draw.
