According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano via Youtube, the Reds are preparing to open contract talks with midfield duo Ryan Gravenberch and Dominik Szoboszlai — two players who have quietly become the heart of Arne Slot’s system. Gravenberch’s composure in possession and Szoboszlai’s tireless drive have made them fan favorites and key figures in Liverpool’s rebuild.

Speaking on his Here We Go podcast, Romano revealed: “Liverpool are preparing discussions with [Gravenberch’s] agent over a new contract. It’s not something that is advanced at this stage, but the idea internally is to start talking as soon as possible.” Romano added that Liverpool see the Dutchman as “one of the best midfielders in the world” — high praise for a player who only joined from Bayern Munich in 2023.

A double deal in the works for Liverpool? Even during Liverpool’s tougher matches, Szoboszlai’s work rate and leadership have shone through.
