Liverpool are set to wave goodbye to a couple of their long-time stars this summer, while another ex-player is also going to become a free agent later this year.Despite having another 12 months left to run on his contract, Mohamed Salah is leaving Anfield for free after 2025/26 comes to a close.Another senior figure, Andy Robertson, will join the Egyptian in departing. Meanwhile, one more of the Jurgen Klopp era stars is set to be on the lookout for a new team in Georginio Wijnaldum.

Then you thought: ‘Oh!’ He was the combination of technique, power, tactical discipline and all these kind of things. The former Newcastle United man left Anfield to join PSG in 2021.
He then had a loan with AS Roma before securing a permanent transfer to Al-Ettifaq in September 2023.To date, Wijnaldum has made 96 appearances for the Saudi Pro League side, and is having a particularly prolific 2025/26 campaign. Now largely operating in a central attacking role or as a 10, the 35-year-old has 15 goals and six assists in 29 matches this term. However, as per Fabrizio Romano on X/Twitter: “Gini Wijnaldum will leave Al Ettifaq as free agent in the summer. Financial decision by the club and not technical as @JacobsBen reported.”In terms of where the ex-Liverpool star will end up, an exact destination is yet to be mooted. However, Sky Sports News did say earlier this week that once his contract is up, Wijnaldum would be keen to return to the Premier League.Join Our NewsletterReceive a digest of our best Liverpool content each week direct to your mailbox
