Federico Chiesa OUT as Liverpool name 21-man travelling squad

Federico Chiesa has not been named in Liverpool’s squad travelling for the Champions League clash with Galatasaray, despite being newly registered last week. Chiesa was drafted into the Champions League squad following Giovanni Leoni‘s season-ending ACL injury – but he is not among those to have made the trip to Istanbul.

The head coach is expected to provide an update on Chiesa’s omission when he holds his pre-match press conference at 7pm (UK time). Hugo Ekitike is also part of the group as he returns to availability after serving his one-match suspension in that 2-1 loss at Selhurst Park.

Ekitike will almost certainly start ahead of Isak up front while Cody Gakpo is set to come back into the side after being included on the bench at the weekend.
