Calvin Ramsay may have once been considered Liverpool’s next promising right-back, but he has become a forgotten man who has failed to kick on since joining the Reds. So far this season, he has played six games at right-back for Rob Page’s academy side, captaining the team on occasion as a 22-year-old.

Back when he arrived, Jurgen Klopp was clearly excited about signing Ramsay, lauding him shortly before his Liverpool debut against Napoli in November 2022. “For a young age – the way he plays – he is a real player.

He’s a real talent and I am really excited about him.” After the appearance at home to Napoli, a second outing for Liverpool quickly came Ramsay’s way in a 0-0 draw at home to Derby in the League Cup, which Klopp’s side won on penalties. At 22, Ramsay does still have time on his side, and hopefully, he can find full fitness and find a new permanent club.
