Liverpool Women have confirmed the return of ex-captain Niamh Fahey. Fahey left the WSL outfit at the end of last season after seven years during which she skippered the club to promotion from the Women’s Championship in 2022.

Fahey rejoins Liverpool as their first-ever technical coordinator which will see her play a key role in shaping and supporting the team’s future technical direction. She returns after completing a Masters degree in Business Administration at Liverpool John Moores University as well as her UEFA B coaching licence.

Liverpool Women’s managing director Andy O’Boyle said: “I’m thrilled that Niamh agreed to take on what will be an extremely important position within our women’s staff, elevating our sporting standards and contributing to the long-term development of the women’s programme. “I know our fans will join me in giving her a warm welcome back to the club.”
