Former Liverpool owner Tom Hicks dies aged 79

Hicks, who was Liverpool’s majority shareholder with business partner George Gillett from 2007 to 2010, died in Dallas on Saturday. His family have a released a statement, saying: “Of everything he accomplished in his remarkable life, Tom Hicks’s most cherished title was, ‘Dad’.



“No matter the trials and tribulations he faced in life, he was constant in his generosity and love for his family. Although we are devastated by this loss, we are profoundly grateful to have been his children.” Hicks leaves behind six children and his wife of 35 years, Cinda Cree Hicks.

Who was Tom Hicks? Born on February 7, 1946, Hicks was brought up in Texas before moving to the University of Southern California where he received his MBA.
