Learn moreLiverpool owners Fenway Sports Group (FSG) have taken drastic measures with one of their other sports clubs, the Boston Red Sox, after parting ways with team manager Alex Cora and five members of his coaching staff. The baseball franchise has had a dismal start to the new season, currently holding a 10-17 record (10 wins, 17 losses) and despite recording a huge 17-1 victory against the Baltimore Orioles on Saturday, the decision was made to remove Cora from his post, along with his backroom team.A former Red Sox player, Cora took up the post in October 2017 and was an instant hit, winning the World Series in 2018. He will be replaced by Chad Tracy, the manager for Triple-A Worcester, on an interim basis. In a statement, FSG chief and Liverpool FC principal owner John Henry said: “Alex Cora led this organization to one of the greatest seasons in Red Sox history in 2018, and for that, and the many years that followed, he will always have our deepest gratitude.FOLLOW OUR LIVERPOOL FC FACEBOOK PAGE!
