Image Credits: Imago ImagesHonduras have named their squad for upcoming friendlies against world champions Argentina and Ghana next week, with Liverpool striker Keyrol Figueroa included.The 19-year-old recently switched his international allegiance from the United States to Honduras and now has a chance to make his senior debut before featuring for Liverpool at club level.Despite being born in Tegucigalpa, Figueroa had not previously represented Honduras at any level.



He instead played for the United States at youth level but was left out of last year’s U20 World Cup squad.Figueroa moved to England as a child following his father’s transfer to Wigan in 2008, later relocating to the United States where he grew up and gained citizenship.Keyrol Figueroa signed his first professional contract with Liverpool in May 2024. The son of former Wigan Athletic defender Maynor Figueroa, he joined Liverpool’s Academy at U14 level.Known for his pace and attacking threat, he is also capable of playing on the right side of the forward line.

He stood out for the USA U17s at the 2022–23 CONCACAF U17 Championship in Mexico, scoring seven goals in seven matches as they finished runners-up to Mexico.Figueroa progressed through Liverpool’s youth ranks, stepping up to the U21s in 2024–25 and beginning the 2025–26 season strongly, including a hat-trick in a Premier League 2 win over Everton. He also made the senior matchday squad for a Carabao Cup tie against Crystal Palace.After representing the United States up to U20 level, he switched his international allegiance to Honduras in May 2026, the country of his birth.
