England’s clubs have been performing strongly across European competition (Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League) this season, and the numbers are starting to do the talking. Arsenal and Liverpool secured their places in the quarter-finals with victories over Bayer Leverkusen and Galatasaray respectively, while Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest have also progressed to the last eight of the Europa League and Crystal Palace has done the same in the Conference League, meaning five Premier League sides remain in European competition.
If England stays in that top-two position come the end of the season, the Premier League’s fifth-placed team earns an automatic Champions League berth for 2026/27. So it looks almost guaranteed that Liverpool can qualify for next season’s Champions League season, but they still need to do their bit and finish in at least fifth place with seven games in the Premier League remaining.
