Hugo Ekitike has spoken for the first time about his Achilles tendon injury. It was confirmed on Thursday that the Liverpool forward will miss the remainder of the current season as well as any involvement in France’s World Cup campaign.

Ekitike faces an extended spell on the sidelines after Arne Slot’s side detailing the extent of his injury from Tuesday’s Champions League tie with Paris Saint-Germain. “It’s hard, maybe even unfair,” wrote Ekitike.
