There were a lot of things to take away from Liverpool’s loss to Galatasaray, but almost none of them were positive. The Reds’ season appears to be taking a downward turn as after winning their first seven games, they have now lost their previous two.Despite performances being poor throughout, Liverpool were finding a way to get over the line, but that seems to have stopped and questions are being raised.Arne Slot made some changes to his team but they did not have the impact he would have hoped, with it now back to the drawing board for the Dutchman ahead of Saturday’s trip to Chelsea.A lot has been said in the opening few months of the season about the way he has gone about things, but there was one thing against Galatasaray that Phil Thompson noticed which he believes may have played a part in their defeat.Photo by Abdulhamid Hosbas/Anadolu via Getty ImagesArne Slot lost his composure against GalatasarayOne thing Slot proved last season was that he was calm and composed, with the Dutchman rarely showing too much emotion on the sideline. However, things slowly changed as he settled into England, and this season, he has not been as level-headed as he used to be, with things clearly not going to plan. The same can be said against Galatasaray too, with former Liverpool captain Thompson believing Slot let the atmosphere get the better of him.“I don’t think I could have kept my calm.

Like, I was watching Arne, and he was like that, he was furious,” Thompson said on The Official Liverpool FC Podcast.“I would be going absolutely berserk down there. Listen, you know it’s going to be very difficult, but to contain yourself in that sort of atmosphere, and I said before the game when we were chatting, is you have to manage this situation.
