Sir Kenny Dalglish has admitted he was “terrified” ahead of his Anfield debut after signing for Liverpool in 1977. However, that didn’t ease Dalglish’s nerves ahead of his first Anfield outing when Liverpool played Newcastle in the first division a couple of days later.



In fact, in the new Amazon Prime Video feature film detailing his life, Dalglish has revealed how nervous he was ahead of walking out at Anfield for the first time. “First game at Anfield was midweek against Newcastle,” recalled Dalglish in the documentary.
