Antoine Semenyo has proven himself to be one of the best in the league over the past few seasons.Things have not exactly gone to plan for the Reds so far this season, which is why they are already looking ahead to the January transfer window. It seems like a bit of a no-brainer for Liverpool to go in for him for that price, especially as they need reinforcements on the wing, but it does mean others will be unhappy. There is one player in particular who would be the ‘biggest loser’ if the 25-year-old does join, and Liverpool fans might not be best pleased.Photo by Robbie Jay Barratt – AMA/Getty ImagesRio Ngumoha would be the biggest loser if Liverpool sign Antoine SemenyoEvery big team needs, ideally, two ready-made stars in each position, but Liverpool only have Cody Gakpo as an out-and-out left wing option. That is nothing against Rio Ngumoha as he is clearly a talented boy, but at just 17, he likely is not ready to play week in, week out.Arne Slot clearly thinks the same as he barely gives the teenager a chance on the pitch, highlighting the need for someone who is ready to make an instant impact, making Semenyo perfect. However, this will block, or at least add obstacles, to Ngumoha’s path, something Liverpool did not want to do in the summer, which is why they opted against finding a replacement for Diaz.READ MORE: Liverpool name their one condition to loan Trey Nyoni as multiple clubs begin to circle Is Antoine Semenyo Liverpool-bound in 2026?

I’m thinking ‘I’ve got them rattled.’ They’re clapping, celebrating, pushing the team on even more. I’m thinking ‘oh my god.’”Antoine Semenyo on the best stadium he ever played at.Photo by Visionhaus/Getty Images This could mean that he drops back down to the U21s rather than sitting on the bench or perhaps even going out on loan, but that might be risky given his age and style of play.Federico Chiesa will also miss outAnother reason why Semenyo is such a good option is because he is very versatile and can play on either flank. This is perfect for when Salah goes to AFCON as Ghana surprisingly, did not qualify, meaning Semenyo will be available during this period.

But this does mean that Federico Chiesa might not get his chance to prove himself, or at least not as much time as he would have hoped to do so. All in all, though, Semenyo to Liverpool makes a lot of sense, it just may make a few in the squad to work a little bit harder to prove why they should be in the team ahead of him.
