Image Credits: Imago ImagesJamie Carragher has had plenty to keep him occupied in the Sky Sports studio this season, with Liverpool enduring an inconsistent campaign that has seen them languishing in fifth place in the Premier League table.As a pundit, Carragher has never been one to shy away from offering his honest assessment of Liverpool’s struggles, and this season has provided him with more talking points than most.However, away from the cameras and analysis, the Liverpool legend has now taken on an exciting new role closer to home.Carragher has officially been appointed as an advisor to Marine FC, a National League North club based in Crosby.Marine state that Carragher will “assist the board with his connections across football, business and the local community.”The club has enjoyed back-to-back promotions in 2022 and 2024, establishing themselves in the sixth tier of English football.Jamie Carragher said of his appointment:“Marine is a proper community football club with good people involved and a clear vision for where it wants to go.



I’ve enjoyed watching the progress the club has made over recent years and I’m pleased to be able to support the club in an advisory capacity going forward.”James Leary, CEO of Marine FC, added:“This is a brilliant moment for Marine Football Club. Jamie is someone who genuinely cares about football and the local community, and he’s followed closely what we’ve been building here over the last few years.His experience and relationships will be a huge help to the club as we continue moving Marine forward over the coming years.”The timing of Carragher’s appointment coincides with Marine’s bold vision for a new £8 million, 5,000-capacity stadium on an 8.32-acre site at Edge Lane in Thornton.The proposed development will include a community hub, classrooms, gymnasium, 3G pitch, health and wellbeing facilities, and accommodation, creating around 100 jobs for the local area.
