Alexander Isak is still out with an injury. The Reds got past Real Madrid fairly easily in the Champions League, even if the 1-0 scoreline does not fully reflect how much better they were than the Spanish giants. They did so despite a fair few injuries as well, with one of these being Isak, who has not played since being taken off at half time against Eintracht Frankfurt. The Swede is yet to get fully up and running since joining in the summer, with this spell on the sidelines only making things harder.Join our newsletter for news & smart analysis. Jamie O’Hara has also made a very bold claim after seeing Liverpool beat Real Madrid, and even if fans do not want to believe it, he might be right.Photo by Carl Recine/Getty ImagesAlexander Isak does not get into Liverpool’s best XIThere is no doubting Isak’s ability as he has made a name for himself as one of the deadliest strikers on the planet, something he will look to add to Liverpool. However, due to fitness issues, he has not shown that just yet, and with Hugo Ekitike playing so well, there are suggestions that he might not even make it back into the team. This is something O’Hara mentioned on talkSPORT, and if all things are considered fairly, then he is probably right.“I don’t think Isak plays in this side right now,’ he said on talkSPORT.“If you look at Liverpool’s best XI right now, I don’t think he plays.
I’m just looking at it and I just think Isak doesn’t play.”As Liverpool play a formation with just one striker, it would be unfair to see Ekitike dropped anyway, so given that he has now had more time to impress, it seems even more unlikely that Isak comes in for him instead.READ MORE: Jamie Carragher perfectly explains why Liverpool fans decided to boo Trent Alexander-Arnold in Champions League tieHe could play on the left, but as seen in the last few games, the Reds now have two very good options, again showing how Isak will find it hard to make his way back into the XI.Arne Slot knows his best XIOne issue with Slot at the beginning of this season is that he had so many options that he was not sure what his best XI was, something that he appears to have solved.Andy Robertson comes in at left-back, Bradley at right-back, Liverpool go back to a flatter midfield three and Hugo Ekitike plays through the middle. Florian Wirtz and Cody Gakpo can fight it out for the left wing spot, which might be good to keep standards high, although this means Isak will only get a chance through the middle off the bench as things stand.Again, this might be good as the need to prove himself might improve his performances, although getting in ahead of Ekitike would take some very good outings indeed.
