Jacquet wasn't involved in the game due to his shoulder injury, but he was presented on the pitch before kick-off.Jacquet joined the Rennes academy in 2019 and, after playing for the youth team, made his debut during the 2023-24 season.



Rennes presented him with a framed graphic highlighting his time at the club, and Jacquet gave a farewell speech to the fans."I arrived here 11 or 12 years ago. I’ve already started, but I have time," he said.Liverpool has desperately needed depth at center-back after failing to land England international Marc Guehi, whose move collapsed on deadline day last summer.

He then joined Crystal Palace in January, and Liverpool pivoted to Jacquet.Jacquet's injury was a setback as his progression and experience were delayed, and fellow Liverpool prospect Giovanni Leoni suffered a season-ending injury on his Liverpool debut.
