Both players were recognised for their continued support of the LFC Foundation, Liverpool’s official charity, after visiting a number of community programmes during the 2025-26 season.The PFA Community Champion award celebrates players who make a positive impact within their communities and support important causes away from football.Both Gomez and Kirby received their awards from participants involved in Foundation programmes, recognising their dedication and progress.Gomez was presented with his award by Kirkby High School student Emmanuel, who has benefited from the Onside programme run by the LFC Foundation.Emmanuel was invited to the AXA Training Centre, where he also had the chance to meet members of Liverpool’s first-team squad.Earlier this year, Gomez visited Kirkby High School as part of the Premier League’s More Than A Game campaign, surprising students during an Onside session. The visit was later featured on Match of the Day.During the visit, Gomez spent time with students, joined in activities and learned more about the positive impact the programme has had on their development.On receiving the award, Joe said: “I’m super proud, obviously what we do on the pitch is massive, but this club is so much more than a football club.“To be able to play a small part in having a positive impact means a lot and I don’t take it for granted and we know it’s our responsibility.“The work of the LFC Foundation is huge and it can’t be overstated how much they do and how much of an impact they have in the community and we are lucky to have them.”Faye Kirby was presented with her award by Ava, who progressed from the LFC Foundation’s Emerging Talent Centre programme to join the club’s U14 Academy squad before recently earning a place in the Pro Game Academy U16s for the next two seasons.In recognition of her impressive development, Ava was invited to the AXA Melwood Training Centre to meet Kirby and present the award.Matt Parish, CEO of the LFC Foundation, said: “We are always grateful of the support of the players from both the men’s and women’s teams and this year we have seen even more of them out in the community which has been fantastic.“Joe and Faye have both been brilliant for us in helping to support our work and raise awareness of what we do and we look forward to continuing to build on this next season.”Joe Gomez has made 32 appearances and provided two assists for Liverpool in all competitions this season.
