However, Juventus are acutely aware that prising Alisson away from Liverpool would be complicated and hugely expensive, as well as the Brazilian having a 1-year extension clause in his Liverpool contract, so parallel plans are already in motion. That’s according to Calciomercato at least, who report that Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario has emerged as a concrete, more realistic alternative.

Vicario’s salary, believed to sit around 2.6 million euros net per season, is considered manageable within Juventus’ wage structure, making him a financially sensible Plan B if an Alisson swoop proves impossible. From Liverpool’s perspective, all signs still point towards Alisson staying exactly where he is Liverpool value him as a cornerstone of the post-Klopp rebuild, both in terms of pure goalkeeping quality and leadership in a dressing room that has already lost several big voices in recent seasons.
