A new feature-length documentary narrated by Sir Kenny Dalglish is to be released soon, with the film including unseen footage and interviews with Liverpool legends. Arguably the greatest player in Liverpool history, Dalglish stands alone in the club’s record books as a succesful player and player-manager.
Now, King Kenny has told his story in a fantastic documentary from Asif Kapadia, the Oscar and BAFTA-winning director of Senna, Amy and Diego Maradona. In total, would score 172 goals and assist the same number as he wrote himself into Liverpool’s history books, winning a combined 17 major honours as player then player-manager in his first spell at the club.
“I wanted to make this film for people like me who remember Kenny as a player, the Celtic, Liverpool and Scottish fans, but also for my kids’ generation who only know Kenny from playing FIFA. “They know the name but they have never seen how good he was as a player or, more importantly, what he did off the pitch for the people of Liverpool.
