As a player, he lifted the European Cup with Liverpool and went on to win the Ballon d’Or twice in a career which also saw him turn out for Hamburg, Southampton and Newcastle before turning his hand to management with the Magpies and England.Keegan’s passing has seen an outpouring of tributes from fans, particularly at Liverpool and Newcastle where he made his biggest impacts.Both clubs have honored him during pre-season, with Liverpool’s players having worn black armbands during their opening friendly against Sunderland in the United States, and more tributes are planned as the Reds return to the UK.Andoni Iraola’s side will face Monaco at Anfield on Sunday, as well as two more friendlies against Italian side Como the following week (August 16) before the 2026/27 Premier League season begins at, appropriately, Newcastle on August 23.Liverpool has now confirmed there will be at further tributes to Keegan during Sunday’s game.
