Liverpool are among the leading contenders to complete the signing of West Ham legend Jarrod Bowen this summer, according to journalist Matt Barlow. Bowen has been an incredible servant for the Hammers, captaining them and so often proving to be their attacking talisman down the years.
Liverpool have often been linked with a move for Bowen, even going back to the Jurgen Klopp era, and now a fresh update has emerged regarding their pursuit of him. Jarrod Bowen a great option, but only as a squad player Bowen could be a Xherdan Shaqiri-esque signing for Liverpool, with the Swiss such an effective signing when he joined after Stoke City were relegated in 2018.
The West Ham icon arguably isn’t quite at his absolute peak now, turning 30 later this year, but he has so much quality, with Jamie Carragher once calling him “one of the greatest players” to have ever played for the club”, when referring to the Hammers. Bowen could be a brilliant squad player for Liverpool, providing strong end product and a great team ethic, but if he does join, it shouldn’t be as a key starter every week.
