That is according to football finance expert Dr Dan Plumley who exclusively told Football Insider that further commercial deals with Coca Cola and Trimble will have a great effect on Liverpool‘s finances.Liverpool generate the third most commercial revenue in the Premier League, with their on pitch success a factor behind the increase in growth.Furthermore, Liverpool could sign a £70million deal with Standard Chartered to renew their long-term partnership, which could be significantly greater than Man United‘s current front of shirt sponsorship deal.Credit: Getty ImagesLiverpool handed ‘good news’ as Man United start to lagSpeaking exclusively to Football Insider, Plumley believes Liverpool are beginning to match Man United’s commercial status.“It’s good news financially.
If you look at Liverpool’s commercial income and the growth, if you go back to 2021, they were generating £217million from commercial revenue,” Plumley said.“That figure in 2024 is now up at £308m just in commercial revenue. That’s taken them above Manchester United in that year.
“It’s not quite as much as Man City yet, but obviously there’s differences there in ownership models that we have to factor in. I think the two go hand in hand, but that certainly in the last few years, they’ve grown commercial revenue and it’s been impressive growth.”Liverpool still weighing up Arne Slot decisionLiverpool won the Premier League title under Arne Slot last season, and the Dutchman is in the second year of his three year deal.Credit: ImagoA decision over Slot’s contract at Liverpool will be made, though talks may have been put on hold amid the Reds’ recent slump in form.
