One Liverpool defender has certainly enjoyed a strong start at his new club this week. The highly rated Frenchman has already undergone surgery on a shoulder injury suffered shortly after his move was announced, but recent updates suggest his operation went well and Liverpool still expect him to be ready for pre-season.

Liverpool defender Josh Davidson has joined National League North side Buxton on loan until the end of the 2025-26 campaign, in a deal confirmed by both clubs this week. A boyhood Red from Liverpool, he has been with the club since the age of six and progressed through every age group, making his U18s bow as an U16 before becoming a regular for the U21s and signing his first professional contract in 2022.

Comfortable at right-back and able to fill in on the opposite flank, he has yet to make a senior appearance but has been tipped internally as a dependable, front-foot defender. He will now spend the remainder of the season with Craig Elliott’s men before returning to Liverpool in the summer, where the club will assess his next step after what they hope will be a valuable taste of senior football.
