At the time there was a TV show called Pennies from Heaven, from memory it was about a detective, and I said to my mum 'wouldn't it be great to make a banner saying Kenny's from heaven', pinched from the TV show."My mum got the red banner and I cut out all the letters and she stitched it together. Me and my brother went down to meet Kenny and took the banner.
We had the banner up at Wembley and John Watson who was doing an interview at the end of game mentioned the banner to Kenny."When he [Kenny] left Liverpool we stopped taking it. It got mentioned in the latest Kenny documentary on Netflix, but that was it until the mural popped up."Alan had no idea about the new mural, or that it had featured his banner - until his children took him to see it on Wednesday night (June 17).He said: "I'd been decorating and our two kids had seen the mural and planned to take me to see it last night without me knowing.
They took me there under the pretence we were going for a look around the club shop."We came out and my lad said 'there's a new mural, shall we go and see it while we're here'. I didn't notice the banner at first, I saw the big picture of Kenny and my lad told me to look what was next to it."There it was, 'Kenny's from heaven'.
