The feeling of competing for every trophy, of being dominant on the pitch, yet giving off that sense of being a fighting club, where every day you have to battle for a goal.“It wasn’t that we fell short of anything in particular; you just had to really work for it. At Liverpool, I found that blend of being and feeling dominant, while also working hard to make it happen.

After such a long struggle to become a footballer, then to become the footballer I wanted to be, the hardest step was accepting that it was coming to an end.“It wasn’t difficult because of what would come next, but because I had to let go of something I was in love with, due to circumstances beyond my control.”It is such a great tribute to the club and the fans that will definitely be something supporters will love to hear considering he was an admired player.Thiago Alcantara could have been one of the best at LiverpoolIt is a shame because, realistically, he would have been one of the best players in the world, let alone at the club, if he were at full strength.Those appearances Thiago had made showed how incredible he was at dictating play, moving the Reds forward with an unmatched creative flair.There are many players who people point to as ones whose careers would have flourished without injuries, and Thiago was one of them.Going back to Barcelona was a good idea and opportunity, but looking at it now, it would have been nice for him to stay at Anfield to be part of the coaching setup with Jurgen Klopp in his final season or even Arne Slot now.In the future, though, who knows, maybe we could see him have a run as a coach, and what a warm welcome he would receive.
