Liverpool chose not to do business, however, despite reported interest in Lamine Camara of Monaco. If Mac Allister continues the form which saw him blast home a spectacular winning goal against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday, the Reds may not need to look at a signing after all, but according to journalists Ben Jacobs and David Ornstein, they are assessing the market, with Camara, Manu Kone and Bournemouth’s Alex Scott seen as top early candidates. What do you think Liverpool should do with Alexis Mac Allister’s contract?

And Alex Scott, I think he will be on Liverpool’s radar too.”Writing in a transfer Q&A with The Athletic on Tuesday, Ornstein echoed the possibility of either Camara or Kone arriving, but suggested that it may still be dependent on whether Mac Allister leaves.“Yes, Liverpool have some interest in Lamine Camara, which would be related to Alexis Mac Allister departing,” he said.“There were rumours of Manchester City looking at him if they hadn’t signed Enzo Fernandez.

I think there’s interest in Kone of Roma, and they’ll have other options as well.”After seeing him blossom under Andoni Iraola at Bournemouth, Liverpool fans may be hoping that Scott is one of those options. There will be others too, but if Mac Allister continues to step up and is rewarded with the new contract he is angling for, perhaps the Reds may just hold what they have once again.
