Liverpool are reportedly one of seven clubs that are in the mix to sign Juventus full-back Andrea Cambiaso in the summer transfer window. According to a new report from Tutto Juve, Liverpool are eyeing a move for Juve ace Cambiaso, who is capable of shining in either full-back position.

Andrea Cambiaso a shrewd, versatile option for Liverpool Cambiaso could be an effective signing by Liverpool, not least because of his aforementioned versatility, immediately giving Arne Slot more options at full-back. The Italian is an impressive player at both ends of the pitch, with Milan legend Mauro Tassotti making it clear how highly he rates him, even comparing him to the iconic Paolo Maldini: “I was immediately struck by Andrea’s ability to play both left and right.

In this sense, he is similar to Paolo Maldini who however was much more powerful from a physical standpoint, had incredible charisma and was also very strong defensively, so much so that he ended his career as a centre-back.” Cambiaso is a 19-cap Italy international, scoring three times for his country, and he is at the right age to be an instant hit for Liverpool, bagging three goals and assists apiece in Serie A this season. He is a left-back by trade, though, so it may be hard for the Reds to keep both him and Kerkez happy, which is perhaps the one negative against them bringing him in.
