Liverpool have now been joined by another club in the race to sign Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi, with the Reds still keen on snapping him up. Liverpool have looked shaky at the back throughout this season, with Virgil van Dijk holding the defence together at times, and not signing the Palace ace could ultimately prove key in the Premier League title race.
Writing on X, Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg claimed that Bayern Munich have entered the race to sign the 25-year-old in 2026, with Liverpool also still pushing hard: “FC Bayern are already looking concretely at Marc Guehi. There is competition: Liverpool and Barcelona are seriously involved, and Real Madrid are also in the race.” Will Liverpool still be No.1 in Guehi’s mind?
Guehi still stands out as the best possible centre-back signing for Liverpool next year, with a move at the end of the season feeling more likely than a January transfer. The fact that Marc is so calm and composed next to them [the debutants Tino Livramento and Harwood-Bellis] is brilliant.” Hopefully, Liverpool are still the club that Guehi wants to join, having made it clear that it was his preference in the summer, but the lure of the likes of Bayern, Barcelona and Real Madrid is also clear.
