The ECHO's Liverpool FC writers give their take on what the Reds side should be in the final game of the season, at home to Brentford on SundayThe end is finally in sight for Liverpool's underwhelming season and Champions League qualification is still not quite officially secure for the 2026/27 term.An emotional afternoon is expected on the day as match-goers say goodbye to two of the greatest of the modern era in Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson - but do both players start? The ECHO's Liverpool FC writers have their say on what Arne Slot should do with his Reds lineup as they aim to sign off with three points and confirmation of their place in the European Cup next season.READ MORE: Arne Slot's Liverpool summer evolution to begin as major Reds transfer target emergesREAD MORE: Andy Robertson shares open letter to people of Liverpool as Anfield goodbye nearsPaul GorstThe big question of whether Mohamed Salah starts after his social media insubordination last week is a bit of a storm in a teacup for me.There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that the man so affectionately known as 'the Egyptian King' begins the game on that right side he has made his own these past nine years - and I'm also giving the nod to Andy Robertson over Milos Kerkez too. It's interesting to note that the most high-profile people who have been calling for Salah to be dropped have been Wayne Rooney and Sam Allardyce, who are hardly have the best interests of the Reds at heart, do they?Rooney's assertion that he wouldn't have Salah "anywhere near" Anfield for today's game was one of the most laughable points of this season.Regardless of your take on his social media comments last week, Salah deserves to start and receive all the plaudits in the world on the day. Cody Gakpo drops out and Giorgi Mamardashvili can sit on the bench too.My team (4-2-3-1): Alisson; Jones, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Szoboszlai, Gravenberch; Salah, Wirtz, Ngumoha; Isak.Ian DoyleFinally we make it all the way down to the end of the yellow brick road to the final day of the Premier League season.

You know which one, right? My team (4-2-3-1): Mamardashvili; Jones, Konate, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Szoboszlai, Gravenberch; Salah, Wirtz, Gakpo; Isak.Mark JonesAfter a week where Wayne Rooney, Sam Allardyce and pretty much everyone else has had their say over what to do with Mohamed Salah, he's just going to start isn't he? And rightly so.Andy Robertson can begin his farewell match as well, and perhaps the pair can be brought off together in the second half as Anfield rises to celebrate two of the very best of the modern era.As for those they are leaving behind, for now at least, it looks like Alisson should be back in goal, while Ibrahima Konate can play alongside Virgil van Dijk at centre-back and I'd go with Joe Gomez at right-back just to help counter Brentford's set-piece threat.Ryan Gravenberch and Dominik Szoboszlai start together in the centre with Florian Wirtz ahead of them, Rio Ngumoha on the left and Alexander Isak upfront.

For this one, I'm sticking with Joe Gomez as I suspect that Slot would like him to deal with Brentford's physicality.Liverpool's longest-serving player lines up alongside Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk, while Andy Robertson starts his final match for the club at left-back.In midfield, I'm starting Ryan Gravenberch and Dominik Szoboszlai in the deeper midfield berths (a double pivot, if you're too young to vote), with the fit-again Florian Wirtz operating in front of them.Despite breaking rank on his Twitter app, Mohamed Salah starts his final-ever Liverpool match on the right side of attack with Rio Ngumoha on the left and Cody Gakpo through the middle. Alexander Isak can get his chance off the bench in the second half.My team (4-3-3): Alisson; Gomez, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Szoboszlai, Wirtz; Salah, Gakpo, Ngumoha.FOLLOW OUR LIVERPOOL FC FACEBOOK PAGE!
