Liverpool have made a breakthrough in their pursuit of Bradley Barcola. Barcola remained the priority attacking reinforcement for Andoni Iraola’s side despite a disparity with Paris Saint-Germain over the player’s valuation.
However both parties have reached a compromise to strike a deal in principle at a lower fee than the one Les Parisiens were originally seeking for Barcola. Sporting director Richard Hughes and owners Fenway Sports Group president Mike Gordon have been leading the negotiations with PSG.
The Anfield chiefs have brokered an overall package of £120M for the France international with an upfront fee of £100M paid to secure his marquee arrival. Barcola will become Liverpool’s third summer arrival after Osasuna winger Victor Munoz and Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo, who joined on loan.
