Inter Milan are believed to have been offered the opportunity to sign right-back Denzel Dumfries this summer, according to an update from journalist Graeme Bailey. According to TEAMtalk‘s Bailey, Liverpool have been “contacted” by Inter regarding the availability of Netherlands wing-back Dumfries, as they look to offer him to other clubs in the summer transfer window.
Denzel Dumfries to Liverpool: Does it make sense? Capable of playing at both right-back and wing-back, like Frimpong, he offers so much attacking quality, being lauded by Micah Richards in the past: “I thought Inter were outstanding, it could have been five.
Attack when you needed to.” Dumfries is on the verge of turning 30, however, so it is hard to see Liverpool signing him, considering he would only be a short-term fix, and because plenty of money has already been spent on Frimpong to be the solution there. The Reds need to be savvy in their approach this summer, bringing in players at the right age, and Dumfries doesn’t fall into that category, despite his quality.
