Liverpool were comfortably beaten by Manchester City on Sunday in a game which could ultimately prove to be meaningless.The Reds went toe-to-toe with City when it was 11 against 11, but Ryan Gravenberch’s incredibly soft sending off ruined the game. Looked much more like his old self as he drove Liverpool forward from midfield, and his really unfortunate sending off changed the game.Alexis Mac Allister: 4 – Did alright in parts, but was too easily overrun by Elliot Anderson for most of the game. Not good enough in any aspect.AttackBradley Barcola: 4 – Just like Wirtz, there had been a real need for Barcola to step up on Sunday, but he just couldn’t get into the game enough, despite some nice moments, including a lovely through-ball to put Lewis Koumas through.

A good showing overall, though which promises much for the future.SubstitutesTrey Nyoni: 5 – Was the man Iraola turned to after Gravenberch’s sending off, and he did his chances of further involvement no harm. Jeremie Frimpong: 3 – Came on and showed his defensive deficiencies by being sat down far too easily by Rayan Cherki for the third goal of the day.Rio Ngumoha: N/A – Liverpool understandably couldn’t get him into the game.Federico Chiesa: N/A – No time to make an impact on his first appearance of the season.Joe Gomez: N/A – Good to see him back in Premier League action.
